Fic Round Up

Another round-up, for my sanity.

any, any, "And then we got arrested."

How We Got a New Pair of .... You Know What, Never Mind That Part

"So, how was the date, Chuck?" Ellie asked, playing with the mug in front of her.

"Well, it started out great. We went to dinner at this new restaurant. Both of us ordered and the waiter ended up tripped right next to us."

"Oh no."

"Oh, he was fine and we didn't get anything on us. Then we went down to the theater for the movie. As it turned out, the movie we were expecting had stopped showing last weekend."

"Oh no. Did you stay for the one they were showing?"

"Uh, no, because it was a romantic comedy and neither of us particularly wanted to see it. So we went to the park."

"Oh, a romantic stroll in the park."

"Well, it wasn't that romantic. A few drunk guys were hanging around and one started hitting on us. He attacked and we fought back."

"Oh no."

"Someone called the police on us."

"Oh no."

"we tried telling the officer that we were just defending ourselves, but he didn't really care that much. And then we were arrested."

"But, you're okay; I'm not going to see you in court."

"No, no, funny thing.... Actually, I can't really tell you that part, but I can tell you.... I can't tell you that either. But we're going on a second date this weekend. And we're staying in."

Chuck, Chuck/Bryce, secrets Bryce had to keep from Chuck while they were at Stanford.

Three Lies (and One Partial Truth)

His first injury had been dealing with a small-time arms dealer. Bryce ended up with a knife ripping his upper right arm up while he tried to fight the man off. His handler at the time almost was late when he had him on the floor but was starting to wake up and he was close to unconsciousness. He told Chuck that he cut himself on a large pane of glass at an abandoned barn in Connecticut during break. It stuck on his tongue and he was glad that it was mistaken for pride. Chuck still helped him out until the wound healed.

The first death he witnessed had been a snitch for a drug cartel. He was supposed to be working his way into the confidence of one of the men. Bryce was brought along to watch them. The snitch was one of their runners, younger than he was and bearing the smallest of resemblance to Chuck. He watched them beat him up for information before a .45 was placed between his eyes. He crawled into Chuck's bed when he got back and said something about midterms before falling asleep to his heartbeat.

His red test had been a man, mid forties with a wife and three kids that was selling information to a terrorist group. The CIA had watched the man and concluded that he would be too much of a threat to even entertain the idea of approaching and turning on the group. He rigged the car so it would deviate into a tree just outside of the city limits and hopefully not take anyone else out. Bryce watched it happen, then made sure he had died before reporting it and going back to Stanford. He got drunk, kissed Chuck and blew him before collapsing. He blamed it all on a bad break-up.

The only time he ever came to telling truths was after his meeting with Flemming. He was staring into space when Chuck came back after a class. “Bryce, you okay?”

“No, not really,” he mumbled.

Fic: A Little Overzealous, Chuck/Doctor Who

Well.... This probably wasn't quite the catastrophe you were looking for.

His brain is frozen. Chuck was sure that the Irene Demova virus would work. He didn't know that someone had already traced the website and shut it down. He was just talking about it this morning. Of all the times for people to get good at taking down virus sites, they had to pick this time.

"Out," Casey grunted, starting to pull Sarah and him back to make them run to the exits. Someone had already gotten the general out and more people were running. They almost made it to the exit when they heard a weird sound filling the area.

Chuck turned back to the room to see a blue, tall box materializing, right next to the bomb. After it fully solidified, out popped a man wearing a pinstriped suit and converses. "Hello," he waved, seeing them. He turned to the bomb and pulled something silvery out of the inside of his jacket. A high buzzing came from it, which was pointed at the bomb, and the timer stopped.

"Sorry, Mickey was a little overzealous after he lost his computer to that website. I didn't quite make it to tell him that it was still needed," he explained, "I'll see you again, Charles Bartowski. Soon for me, not so soon for you." The man got back into the blue box and Chuck heard the door shut before the weird whine-like sound filled the air again and it disappeared.

"What the hell was that?" Chuck asked. Casey grunted and pulled Chuck along with him, Sarah following behind. "Who the hell was that?"

"Someone that will cost us a lot of paperwork," she muttered, pulling out a cell phone.

Chuck, Chuck/Bryce Stanford Era, unusually close

They knew when the other was hurting without words. Bryce would distract Chuck because he wouldn't tell him anything unless he was adequately distracted so he couldn't censor himself; Chuck would see Bryce ignore everything and everyone until he got into his face and forcibly look at him. Several of the people around campus wished they were as close as they were, even the ones married for years.

Criminal Minds/Suits/Chuck/White Collar, Reid + Mike + Chuck + Neal (or any combination of those), think tank

They've got a problem; We're thinking up the solution

Chuck spazzed.

Okay, to explain, seeing someone with the face of his former, dead friend would be enough to make anyone act weird.

To explain even further, the three agencies, CIA, FBI and NSA, decided to pool their resources when the Ring turned out to be even deeper and worse than anything they predicted. Chuck was the first told, and the one to go through the information on the others that were brought in to make sure they weren't Ring.

Spencer Reid was chosen due to his work with the BAU. His profiling was incredible and his memory along with his processing speed allowed him to get through information faster than most CIA analysts. General Beckman was also trying to test him for ability to hold an Intersect. Agents Hotchner and Morgan argued with her on that. They also argued about poaching him for this.

Michael Ross' parents had been former NSA. They were killed in a car accident that really was a well disguised assassination by an old enemy. He had been watched for any repercussions from more enemies. Instead, they saw his ability to retain information. Ready to recruit him as soon as he finished college, they were 'disappointed' when he was kicked out for the test scheme. They fell back, keeping occasional watch. One thought it was interesting that he was able to become a lawyer in Pearson Hardman. Finding out he was capable of playing people, they started looking at him again. When the Ring problem came up, they used it as a way to take Mike so they could test him. Harvey was not happy when he was taken.

Neal Caffrey was a surprise. For a conman, forger and alleged thief, Chuck didn't understand why they needed him. CIA operatives were taught what Neal knew and according to his file, no picture attached, unwilling to kill people. He figured it had to do with the fact he had broken into places and stolen items that the CIA could never get to, along with criminal connections (Dante Haversham. Really?).

It wasn't until he walked into the room where the meeting was taking place that he saw Neal. And saw Neal with Bryce's face. What are she thinking?! “Agent Bartowski,” General Beckman announced, pulling everyone to the attention of the TV screen, “It's time to begin.”

Chuck, Chuck or/and Bryce, "They all have husbands and wives and children and houses and dogs, and, you know, they've all made themselves a part of something and they can talk about what they do. What am I gonna say? "I killed the president of Paraguay with a fork. How've you been?'" (Gross Point Blank)

Shock Factor

He doesn't even know how the hell they knew he was alive.

The alumni committee at Stanford sent Bryce a letter about the fifth year reunion. He hid it under a few magazines that Chuck would never touch whenever he came over for video game night. Being temporary handler while Sarah was off on a mission was the only time they ever spent together. The 'Intersect' couldn't be around the Intersect.

A particular move sent Chuck jumping up and down when he finally managed to destroy Bryce and knocked into the magazines, spilling them and the letter on the floor. “I got that,” he insisted, sweeping up the magazines and placing them back but keeping the letter. “Stanford?”

Bryce shot up, but he wasn't fast enough to rip the paper out of his hand. “Chuck, give me that,” he grumbled, cursing his shorter statue against the man that matched Casey in height.

“Five year reunion. Cool,” he read, “How come you didn't even open this?”

“Thank you, Chuck, for telling me you just committed a federal offense,” Bryce said, “And Stanford shouldn't even realize that I'm alive. I'm still technically dead from Casey shooting me.”

“Maybe it was Mark; I always thought he had inside connections,” he joked. “Come on, it could be fun. You can see how Maria Vent is doing, rag on Steve Nail, find Danni and Jesse again.”

“And tell them what? I'm just a simple accountant,” he recited, “No girlfriend, no boyfriend, no family. Steve probably has a girlfriend, even a fiance. I haven't even dated in the last five, six years.” Retrieving the letter, he sat down and glanced over it curiously.

“You could always lie. Or try the whole bizarre truth that no one can believe so they just think you're covering for something else,” Chuck suggested, “Admit, the whole dying and being brought back by rogue agents would sell as some part of a Clancy novel.” Bryce nodded and he continued, “Or we could go for the whole shock factor.”

“We? Wha...” He didn't even register that Chuck had moved over during his talking and found himself on the receiving end of a kiss. He automatically reciprocates because it's been too long Oh God is Sarah really the last person that I have been with? and he's a little breathless when he stops.

Chuck grinned, “Just practicing. How do you think everyone would react if you came back with the guy you kicked out?”

It took about nothing to figure out what Chuck was suggesting. “Chuck," he growled.
