Writer's Block: A political affair

The only reason we should know about the personal life is if it interacts with the ability to perform.
EX: The President has a medical illness. (West Wing) Unless it impairs him, the people don't need to know. We didn't, at the time, know about FDR and several others when they had medical problems. There was one that had a stroke (I can't remember which), but the person was still able to make decisions. He just couldn't communicate well, so his wife did it for him.
