Old item from CSI New York
Oct. 28th, 2008 12:14 amI got this idea a while back, when I was in this whole behavioral stretch for one of my classes. I put this up way after the episode, but something just threw me about the whole deal. So, this is how I really felt about the cabbie killer. I just copied it off of the blog I did for myspace.
Okay, for those that don't watch CSI: NY. The cabbie killer is accredited with six murders. A prostitute by strangulation, a lawyer by carbon monoxide poisoning, a real estate agent that he tried poisoning, then strangled, a real estate agent, grad student and a woman by carbon monoxide poisoning. He would have had seven, but the CSIs got there in time to save Reed Garrett, who the cabbie killer had kidnapped in order to spread his message.
The killer had two different personalities. The first, A I call him, is a god fearing religious fanatic. He wants to help the sinners by spreading God's message. He doesn't really know how the bodies get to his hands (or maybe he does but some of the parts are knocked out) but he uses them to spread the message. He doesn't want to kill people, evident by watching the reaction as Reed asks him if he's going to kill him. A doesn't answer the question. He's trying to block it out of his mind of what's going to happen. He doesn't really want to kill Reed; there may even be a little bit of remorse in his reaction to the question.
The other personality, B, is the side that is the killer. This is the guy that's able to think of all the things dealing with the victims. B's the one that thought of the carbon monoxide so it's easier to kill them. He's the one able to think of dumping the bodies in sources of water to evidence will wash away. This guy doesn't fear God, because he lies to the last victim about having three kids to support. He lies to Reed about who the killer is by pointing the finger at Jimmy. You can tell when it's B because his voice changes. There's a bit of an accent (when he's talking to the woman and yelling at Jimmy) and a coldness (telling the woman he doesn't have children and when they're arresting him.) When they're arresting him and he's talking about Charon and L2729, he's more repeating facts. There's no real emphasis on the items. If A were talking about it, he would have begging them to help him with the sinners or maybe calling them sinners, I'm not sure. B wouldn't have made mistakes with keeping Reed. He might have been over his shoulder, watching what he typed to make sure that he wasn't letting anyone know where he was.
